Thrilled but not showing it

Tom got some new books today, he's constantly reading but we're trying to get him to read more fiction instead of things like tectonic plate movement or the astronomical exploration.

He didn't seem overly pleased when he was given them but checking on him an hour or so later I had to close the book on page 80.
