These are a few of the flowers that I found scattered on the lawn when I awoke this morning.  During the day it has been exceedingly windy with several large heavy plant pots blown over and broken branches, leaves and flowers strewn all over the garden.   Fortunately yesterday I had moved most of them to more sheltered positions as gales were forecast, otherwise the pots might have completely broken  Just along the road the wind was relatively mild but our garden is very exposed to the prevailing west and south westerlies and sometimes it’s like being in a wind tunnel.  According to reports there were gusts approaching 50mph in the area but fortunately the wind is less strong now after the rain.
