Echium in flower

Rower2012 posted a blip of our triffid - sorry, echium - in the front garden a few days ago. Late this afternoon, I noticed it is just coming into flower on the western side of each spike. Seen from a distance this is a bit of a nothing echium, just a pale, rather uninspiring pink, but seen close up it's very different. Each little flower has impossibly long bright pink stamens, and the petals are a delicate pale pink veined in blue. So lovely.
