M Pocket Watch

I bought this watch as a jewelry store was closing in 1975.  The coin on the left is is a US half dollar created to commemorate the Colombian Exposition in Chicago in 1893, and of course has Christopher Columbus on the coin.  It was the first commemorative coin produced by a US mint.  According to the serial numbers search possible in the book on which the watch and coin are resting, the watch was made in 1887 and then the area around the second hand was painted to read World's Fair, 1993.  The lettering was partially removed by a man who called himself a professional watchmaker when it was in his shop a few years ago.  He was so "professional" he kept my watch 9 months without doing anything to repair it, but managed to wash off part of the writing.   On the watch face, it says "Amer. Watch Co." and under that it says "Waltham."
