By weewilkie

let the torrents come

in this dry land
even the sea
perspires
its weight
up
into the sky
dreaming
cool mountain springs
in the air
that cloud-gather
and fold
into
a storm
unleashed
once more
on this blazing land
back to its dreamer
the sea

you and I darling
are here
in this life
of ours
amid these changing
states
of water
our own airy dreams
precipitating
to a stream of living
breathing children
solid
like this land
your hand
in mine
fluid
like the taste
of your sweat
on my tongue

let the torrents come
my dear
that we may live them
some more
that we may stand here
together
watching
the sea transform the sky
the sky transform the sea
