Another day out!!  To Sanday, for the launch of Lin Anderson's 11th novel, with library readers, and Lin herself.

The weather forecast was bad, and I was advised to take supplies in case the ferry home was cancelled, but in fact it was very smooth both ways, despite a stiff wind on the way home.

A higher than expected turnout for the book launch, with a very interesting and entertaining talk from Lin...meant that there weren't copies of the book for everyone that wanted to buy one.

We had a walk around before the excellent four course lunch, laid on by the Sanday Soulka team, made entirely from Orkney produce, apart from some Caithness raspberries.

The fresh breeze and rain showers meant that we didn't venture far from the hall...just far enough to get this blip of Sanday airport.  The dykes are painted red and white to help pilots locate the runway.

Bumped into L on the ferry home, so had a super catch-up with her.
