That will be an etude or mazurka, not "As time goes by".
I don't particularly like this sculpture on Deansgate. Clumsy, in the wrong place, and facing the wrong way, I suspect it goes largely unnoticed by many who pass it.
It has been here since 2011, maybe celebrating the 201st anniversary of Chopin's birth, or the 163rd anniversary of his visit to the city of Manchester, part of a UK tour. Or maybe Manchester's welcoming of Polish immigrants and visitors over the decades.
He played the Gentleman's Concert Hall, long gone and replaced by the Midland Hotel. He was suffering from TB, and returning to Paris died the following year (1849) aged just 39.
And it's mono Monday - you cannot play the piano without a superb sense of touch.
