bon voyage

long day driving. we were aiming for a 2pm shuttle over to france, but late set off, copious amounts of pee stops and a really bad accident and motorway closure for the air ambulance 12 miles from our departure point meant we didn't get over til 8pm and it was dark when we arrived at our overnight hotel. still, a vaguely gentle introduction to driving on the wrong side of the road - just 3 hours or so....

children were brilliant on the journey. the in car dvd players have more than paid for themselves! (and having D and L in 2 separate cars might have helped a bit, too)

13 hours today.
sat nav says 6 for tomorrow down to the vendee. i'm not convinced!
