survival of the fittest

Great day in the lounge watching team GB win...lots. This poor young crow has a huge and nasty infection and growth growing over his other eye and is scruffy and unhealthy looking. It is totally revolting , far too foul to post.it made me feel sick on macro!! And I have a cast iron stomach for that sort of thing, but there is something queasy about gooey eyes.
So in between the magical moments of the Olympics I've been watching this young bird and it's fight for survival. He's being picked on by the the other Crows, magpies and jackdaws, with several cats watching from the side lines too. It's harsh to watch.
