First day out

These are the first fledglings I have seen this summer. We normally have heaps by now but this year the swallows have really struggled for some reason. So I was super excited to come home from the food shop to find 5 sat on the front door step!
They say there all day, being fed by their tireless parents. They moved on to the dyke and then finally I found them here - right outside our bedroom window.
But alas... Only 4 now.
I've been sat at the window for quite a while watching - I'm only about 3 feet away but they aren't bothered. They are all squashed up now to stay warm.
Fingers crossed they survive the night.
