Knebworth

So, all we wanted to be was on the coat tails of Oasis. Knebworth – I was there. It was just surreal. A sea of people in the Britpop bubble led by the captains of industry – Oasis.

For many of us this was our line in the sand. It would never get any bigger, any flasher, but somehow we needed to step away and find reality because Knebworth was never about reality. It was pure show, a dream world of possibilities that said I’m free to be whatever I want to be.

God I loved that time and that band.

Happy days that nodded back to the genius of The Beatles and looked forward to the hope of tomorrow.
