Swedish snake

A (according to the rangers we spoke to and who looked at this photo) pregnant, and poisonous, viper.

We saw lots of snakes last year in Sweden too - until then I hadn't thought of Sweden as a particularly "snakey" country.

Visit to the lovely Tyresta national park just half an hour outside of Stockholm where as well as the snake we were also surprised by some deer; watched a duck dive for the longest time I've ever seen a duck dive for (was about 4 minutes- the ranger said they can dive for up to about 6); photographed some cocky cockerels; and observed some Germans skinny dipping (no, Herr L was not one of them)!!!
