A Perfect Day
I've chosen this photo today because it makes me feel very cheery. We really did have a beautiful day.
We walked over the cliffs in the sunshine; slight breeze, the sky was perfectly blue and the sea was emence. Even from the cliffs the sound was so loud and the waves were huge as the tide went out.
I got to hug a horse on route (perfect) and chat to wee Joe as we walked. We reached the Boggle Hole then continued on for a while until we came down on to the beach here, where we find all our Devils Toenails.
In the picture the kids are walking in the sea with Paul. It was warm and loud and exciting. I found a beautiful ammonite which split perfectly in half with one crack of the hammer and a near perfect very large fossilised muscle shell.
Then we walked along the beach back to the Boggle Hole for a lovely lunch finished off with lattes and the best piece of rhubarb and rose sponge cake we've ever tasted. They had a woodburning stove lit the the cafe which made everything just warm and comfortable.
No bickering or arguing from our wonderful kids the whole day, and some special moments with my man.
Back along the cliffs for an ice cream and a seat in the bay.
