Field of Purple

So, I guess God must have been pretty happy with me on this day because I simply had to stop and investigate this sweet patch of purple frilly loveliness when I spotted it from the road in front of my mother's house. 
Even though the day was mighty hot, I managed to entice my mom outside to accompany me on my little quest. Our walk was short but, not only did we take a closer look at these purple sweeties, we found a creekside patch of mystery yellow blooms and a rather large and bountiful patch of black raspberry bushes as well. Yummm!
