A Collector of Oddities

Pleasant

Pleasance press launch this morning. The photo above is Othello through the medium of hip hop which was very good.

First off was a couple of sketches from Horrible Histories (the West End show version). We had Who Wants to Blow up Parliament with Guy Fawkes and a Burke and Hare song for some local interest. It was great fun and I am sure the show is a blast. Next was Adam Kay who sung some songs about making tea, learning the ropes in an IT department and much other stuff. Very funny! We then had a bit from The Two Worlds of Charlie F about (and starring) wounded and sick soldiers. This has apparently taken the West End by storm and it looked very good. Othello:The Remix, the above mentioned hip hop version of the Shakespeare play was excellent. Anything that can make Shakespeare interesting is good by me. We finished off with The Boy With Tape on His Face which is a sort of physical theatre thing and very funny. Compered throughout by Rhys Darby, a kiwi comedian there was nothing that I wouldn't be happy to go and see myself.

If anyone wants to read proper reviews, may I quickly plug a Fortean at the Fringe!
