Learning

Sadly this young starling was at the bottom of the pecking order in the elder tree earlier today.  I took a break from editing our Club newsletter (gnash gnash!), thankfully the weather has been conducive to sitting at the computer, and looked out at the feeders.  Tony had reported thirty starlings in the tree, we are obviously feeding them too well.  Interestingly there were several age groups, this one being one of the youngest.  S/he sat for some while watching the older ones fall out over the fat bits, waiting for an opportunity to fly in.
