Ironbridge.

We've made a halfway home over night stop at Stafford and went for a quick visit to Ironbridge to see the 'iron bridge' over the river Severn.
The bridge was opened in 1781, and was the first arch bridge in the world to be made of cast iron, and was greatly celebrated after construction owing to its use of the new material.
It's lovely to see, and the ironwork is beautiful. The town is very appealing too - I wish we had a bit more time to explore.
