a lily petal...

...from the lily flower

unfortunately the lily flower ended up - not lasting as long as i wanted it to - boo! - so today when i went to water it - petals began to flitter to the floor - my heart dropped - you cannot imagine my sadness at this development - i realize flowers won't last forever but...

obviously as a photographer you do the next best thing right? - you take photos of the thing - so here is one of those petals which flittered to the floor before me - i jazzed it up just a little bit so it has a little sheen - to it giving what i believe to be - almost a regal appearance

the colors remind me of those you'd see in clothes worn - in courts long ago - those rich saturated colors - now that's the sort of thing which makes one smile wide knowing it has been...
