Bilston Glen Colliery.

This is a monument to the miners who died during the lifetime of Bilston Glen.
This was one of the many mines that Maggie T closed and was the scene of many skirmishes during the miners strike.
Passed by it on a wonderful walk as part of the Midlothian Walking Festival (4 festivals in a week !!) great company on a short nine mile walk around the Roslin area very interesting & our leaders Arthur & Olga were excellent. Checkout the website if your free & around in Edinburgh.
