Show Jumping, And What A Show!
So we had our trip up to the Olympics today, passing through Stratford, seeing the Olympic Park springing into action with the athletics taking place. The Docklands Light Railway sped us from Stratford down to Greenwich with no bother.
The games makers, the volunteers that guide you from the station to the venue were brilliant, getting everyone into the spirit of things, high fiving Oliver on the way there.
Concerns about the security were put aside as we sailed through with almost no delay. Everyone involved in the running of the event was friendly and amenable.
As a nation we are good at beating ourselves up about what a poor effort we do, but I have to say that I have nothing but praise for the whole thing. Forget the corporate side of the Olympics this was just a really great event and an opportunity to see the best in the world doing what they do really well in front of over 20,000 people
If you are off to the Olympics I am sure you will have a very good experience.
This isn't the best picture, and not the one I like the best, but I feel it gives a better reflection of the enormity of the arena and the atmosphere in there. There are some extra better pictures here too.
