US Holiday Day 22

NYC day 3, late day of the holiday.
we went off the tourist track today, venturing into Brooklyn. D2 had found a restaurant that did the best pizzas in the universe, Roberta's. We found it in a rather run down street, a shabby door and industrial containers outside with tomatoes growing in them. There was little to indicate it was our destination apart from one small sign, Roberto's. Once inside it did not improve, corrugated iron, plastic sheeting wooden tables and non matching chairs. (see extra photo to see how good it looked). But when the food arrived everything changed. The building was not shabby, it was idiosyncratic, niche, trendy etc. The food was to die for, only pizza but soooo good. Mine was simple, no tomato but covered with leaves, called White and Greens. Delicious. Recommended.
Caught a bus and had a bit of a scenic tour until we arrived at the Brooklyn Bridge. This has a pedestrian walkway (wooden floor)  above the traffic and was very popular with locals and tourists alike. Not surprising as the views were great and there were interesting things at both ends, including a very old steam roundabout
Back to the hotel, waited for the bus to the airport and then waited several hours until the thunderstorms moved away and flights started once more. End of holiday.
Looking at others holiday photos is one of life's miseries so I apologise for the last 20 blips.
