Down South (Day 1)

A pilgrimage to the Holy Island today, just south of Berwick upon Tweed.

It has a close link with Iona, which was part of my June trip to Mull. One of the Extras is a statue of St Aiden who arrived on the island from Iona to establish a Christian presence locally.

The Blip is the approch to Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island.

The other Extra is Bamburgh Castle a bit south of Holy Island.

After that we went on to Newcastle for the night. A superb dinner in my favourite Persian restaurant.
