Jolly hockeysticks
Showing Megan the sights of Ely and Cambridge on a hot summer day was excellent. We took in some quintessentially British experiences: tea rooms, bumbling service, walled gardens, frazzled charity shop workers, a pork pie and summer berry based picnic on a grassy knoll, train cancellations, river sunsets, rowdy crowds outside Wetherspoons, twisted medieval alleyways and gowned students as we trespassed in college grounds.
We come across as very twee to a Yank. In the greatest way.
(Olympic period is making me feel patriotic)
