Chopper squad

To one of the Nottingham branches of Pizza Express tonight. Good company and good food. Being in Nottingham the theme of this particular restaurant seems to be Raleigh Bikes (bikes hanging on the wall, Airfix style sprues of famous Raleigh models decorating the alcoves). Raleigh used to employ thousands in the city (and the superb Albert Finney in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning), now they're a shadow of their former selves. Their 'manufacturing' facilty is now an assembly plant employing less than 200 in Nottingham's 'bandit country' (a forgotten place called Eastwood whose claim to fame is as the birthplace of a writer of controversial literature) where migrant workers bolt together kits of bikes shipped in from China. Very sad. Especially given Great Britain's recent success in sport cycling.
Anyway, no doubt the Raleigh Chopper on the gents' door is there as some kind of double entendre before you say hello to your own 'chopper'.
