Montrose

Having been thwarted in our plans for a few days on Canna we set off in the opposite direction this morning. The 09:00 train got us to Montrose just in time for coffee and a substantial elevenses at the excellent Pavilion Cafe. Feeling the need to walk at least some of this off we explored the parks of the Mid Links and walked along the beach to the port area. And what do you know, this circular walk brought us back to the Pavilion Cafe and cakes. Perfect.

This is the view south to the mouth of the River South Esk and the lighthouse known as Scurdie Ness.
