This is one of the public footpaths I followed on an afternoon walk. Some route replanning was necessary when I needed to cross the next field (see extra). The alternative option (which I took) crossed a ploughed field too, though the soil had been broken down more. The only other obstacle was a large metal gate which I'm sure, had I been able to get it open, I may not have been able to close. The solution was to crawl under the adjoining wooden fence.
Very different from the walking I do in the Lakes.
