Gently down the stream

Close to home

After my big trip yesterday I stayed close to home today.  I read lots of my book (Mary Beard's rather wonderful latest on Rome - SPQR) and chortled over various pieces of political news in the paper.  Why is it such fun when things go wrong for people you're not at all sure you'd like to meet?  I think I must be a rather nasty person.

It was also 'Bazza's beans' day.  That's one of my neighbours who - once a year - presents me with a bag of home grown potatoes and runner beans and stands on my doorstep having a jolly good moan.  This year it was because I'm 'always out' so he had to keep them in his fridge.  Dang dang!  I nearly blipped them in celebration, but decided you probably knew what runner beans and potatoes looked like.

So this is a wild geranium I came across on a saunter down the footpath late this afternoon.  I thought the evening light was really rather pretty.

Hope Saturday's treated you kindly  xx
