Swimming, running and cake
Izzy picked us up just after 8am, we headed off to Jim's in the Pans, swapped cars and then drove down to Tyninghame.
It's the 1st time I've been to this stunning bay and although it was windy, I was dying to get in the water. It was colder than expected....the sign being ice-cream head, but it was fine once we got going.
Jim headed back to the beach once we had passed the 1st set of rocks and was subsequently stung by a jelly fish, probably a lion's mane one judging by how it was weeping later on.
We continued across the bay, seeing terns and cormorants fly above our heads. It's amazing seeing these birds in their own environment. The wind and current was pretty strong so progress was slow but I didn't really want to get out.
Izzy and Rosemary then headed off running round the headland, via Tantallon Castle, to meet Jim and I in North Berwick a few hours later. We were travelling by car.
Parking up near the golf course, we had a great walk down the beach and met the lassies who were swimming across Canty Bay. I got a few photos, as Jim headed back to the car to ensure it was open for I and R's arrival.
Once everyone was changed, it was off to Steampunk for lunch plus cake n coffee.
