Take Away Dinner

I spent my lunch break from work picking up plastic and broken glass on my favourite cove. The one and only litter bin is no longer at the harbour so I took it all back to the shop. I have been told that the bin was removed because some folk put their domestic rubbish into it! Better to do that I think than chuck it in the hedge or overboard from a boat!
Then I observed a local man eating a take away dinner, the empty plate was discarded over the wall into the stream. I said I couldn't believe he had just done that, to which he replied it would soon be washed into the sea! What about all the plastic in the ocean I asked?  His response was that it doesn't harm the fish. I explained about plastic breaking down and getting into the food chain but I knew I was wasting my breath, he didn't care.
