Bristol Balloon Fiesta

We've come to Bristol for the weekend to see the balloons. It is something we used to do a lot when the Conventboys were little but haven't been for about 6 yrs now. On each day of the fiesta there is a mass ascent of balloons at 6AM and 6PM but that is dependent on weather conditions and so far this year they had been cancelled. Tonight, however, they took off and what a spectacle it was! I lost count at about 60. It is a fabulous sight to see them all jostling for space to take off.
Large is better.

After dark is the night glow. About 20 balloons are tethered in the arena and their burners are opened to accompany music. The effect is flashing blasts of colour. Amazing! (see extras)
