Coire-an-Lochan

Our last day in Arran.  I got up relatively early and walked to Corrie, which is such a picturesque village (see extra), and TT went for a run.  After breakfast we three plus R and L drove round the island past Lochranza and walked up to Coire-an-Lochan. Being pretty much straight up we were quickly rewarded by views across to Kintyre.  BB was demonstrating his mountain goat-like abilities over the rockier climb and set the pace.  Once at the loch we didn’t linger long as it was freezing.  If I had had a hat and scarf in my bag, I would have put them on.

We came down very quickly, and then headed back to the house, where D and L had organised a barbeque.  We spent the rest of the afternoon eating and drinking - apart from poor TT who had nothing stronger than a cup of tea.  All too soon it was time for us to leave and catch the ferry.  The ferry turned out to be running late (as a result of the strong winds earlier in the day), which combined with a tailback on the M8, meant we got home far far later than we should have done – which was not ideal as I had an early start in the morning.

Here are TT and L, threatening to throw BB into the freezing cold loch.
