St James Tarn
I like the way the breeze has made the tarn look like an abstract watercolour.
The last time I was here the tarn was frozen solid and surrounded by snow. Today was warmer (though not by much) and there was no snow or ice to be seen but a good stiff breeze moving the water.
On my way to Christchurch this morning I took plenty of fog shots - the first 100km of the trip was thick fog. I also stopped at Marble Hill and had a chat with a wee native robin, then stopped at the Tarn on the Canterbury side of the Lewis Pass. I still made it here in plenty of time to take my son to lunch and spend the afternoon with my grandson. A good day.
I'm off down to Palmerston tomorrow - so probable stops in Timaru to see a friend, Oamaru to buy cheese and Moeraki to admire the boulders. However, all of that really depends on how early I set off and what the weather is like!
