Luc sur Mer

With time to kill until our afternoon ferry, we drove to Luc sur Mer, a fairly low-key resort town west of the port at Ouistreham. Claims to fame: a little wooden pier, a seafront arcade that reminded me of the sixties shopping centre in Leek and the full skeleton of a whale that washed ashore in the Nineteenth Century and now lives under a corrugated roof in the corner of the little municipal park build in the Garden of the Hotel de Ville. It was actually pretty cool – we had a wander along the pier, ate a sandwich on the beach and drank a café au lait at the beach end of the aforementioned arcade. Then we drove to the ferry port and joined the queue for embarkation…
