Solo
Sailing on Sundays stepped up a notch today when we got the chance to get the kids out on the water. After a few quick little tips from 'H'... (our sailing teacher, not the chap from Steps), and a demonstration run we sent them off to 'just do it'.
And do it they did. Off spectacularly together to have a few trips around the reservoir, and then amazingly found the confidence to go out solo as well. (Something that took me at least a month to do).
So today had to be a blip of the little one, all of nine years old, sailing like she'd been out on the water for years, happy as larry (if larry was a happy sailor), and confidently making up her own courses, zipping in and out of the bouys.
I think all the piratey fun of the last week may have rubbed off a bit too much. We'll have to keep an eye out for any mysterious gold appearing around the house... and by way of a clever segue, as I write this I've just heard that Team GB have just won a gold medal in sailing...
And on that note... goodnight kids :)
