Bridge construction over the River Ness continues, at Holm Mills, Inverness. Now the right side pier site has a wee bridge to it, it's been filled with hardcore, and the pile driving machine was driving in sheet piling. Nothing much happening this side, other than on the bank, with a big hole full of reinforcement.
Early morning cycle to the pool as it had been incessant showery for the last couple of evenings I'd wanted to go. Met a fella I know slightly, and was surprised to hear that he'd just retired... and then was then greatly surprised to find out he's fifty-five years old... the same as myself. Further discussion revealed he's six months younger than me. Eek! There's me thinking it's thirteen years until I qualify for old age pension, and I'll be working at least ten of those... all being well, and if I last that long. If he survives until his ninety, he'll have been retired for the same length of time that he was working. Kind of crazy, but when a good offer/package comes along, well, good luck to him.
A good swim; shopping; then home.
Extra - View of the works from above the big weir.
