A very sound chap
We stayed up late into the night watching Andy Murray putting us through the wringer as usual. Then there's the cycling from the velodrome which is so enthralling and I just know I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms when it's all over.
This afternoon we drove over to see how far the roofers have got with our friends house. The walls had started to bow and so the roof has had to come off, the beams reinforced and then lighter tiles will have to be put on. All in all it's expected to take between two and three months. They are away walking in the Pyrenees at the moment but due back on Friday to a "right old mess".
A friend from down the road is watering and feeding the fish for them and announced this afternoon that there are fifty one pots to water, the beans are going mad, the tomatoes have taken over the greenhouse and the raspberries are all maggoty. So after throwing a ball around for Megan the dog they are looking after for a couple of weeks, we trotted down the road to hers for a cup of tea. I was amused to see that they look directly up the hill to our friends house, which is covered in scaffolding and plastic and sticks out like a sore thumb. See extra.
This is our friend's husband and I just loved the battered old summer hat and is my contribution to JDO's theme of "Sound". He is just that. Sound.
