Taxi fare
It's easier for many local and foreign women to travel by taxi in Cairo; although for many it's an unaffordable way of travelling.
My driver last night wasn't very chatty, despite his very pleased welcome. Being a 'blonde' haired, blue-eyed foreigner I do attract a bit of attention as in this culture, I'm clearly not a local. Some of it is sweet, sometimes a bit swoony, or kind, some of it is harassment and the rest falls somewhere in between.
When I was dropped off at my destination my driver didn't want to take my money, which included a good tip. Instead it was handed back with a big smile and two or three 'hello's', which I think was the extent of his knowledge of English.
Cute! Made my evening. Egyptians can be very endearing.
