Day 14: Monaco Monday

An early start for us as we were on the move again. It was a scenic journey around the coast from Tuscany to Monaco. If Disneyland was for Poppy, then Monaco was for Alfie. He loved spotting all the supercars and there are plenty to spot. It was as hot as Hades and we walked up the hill to the Cafe de Paris. We sat, 4 red-faced, sweaty messes, amongst the cool, rich and beautiful and paid 10 euros a beer each (8 euros each for the children's Orangina's) and marvelled at how the other half lives.

After a walk round the town, with Alf and D giving a fascinating running commentary about F1 track landmarks, we were off again down to St Tropez and our home for the next few days.
We walked into Port Grimaud this evening, a beautiful harbour town with restaurants, shops and bars down by the water and a lovely beach.
After a few days here, we need one more stop between here and Calais. Paris would be the ideal distance. We are weighing up the pros and cons. There is a huge armed police presence here; a reminder of our vulnerability at the moment.
