BBQ season always pushes me back towards vegetarianism, and right now is my tipping point. So today I made a big salad for lunch, which had the side benefit of using up the glut of tomatoes that had built up. I don't normally eat tomatoes, but this salad makes them palatable even to me.

Super-hot today. Outside was like an oven, so there wasn't even any lying in the shady reading corner to be done. Instead we all skulked inside. Mr B worked upstairs; I caught up on podcasts and made a t-shirt. Later TallGirl and I watched the dressage and she was able to explain to me how you make horses go sideways. I love that my kids know stuff I don't about sport (and many other things!)

This evening the temperatures dropped enough for a BBQ and I stayed just the right side of the tipping point, meat-wise. Then a marathon call with my parents (Mam was next door so I was gifted a long chat with my Dad first) with no politics or awkward moments. Let's hope our long visit in a few days goes as well.
