Well, I'd not seen this before... I was going to post a honey bee approaching a Japanese Anemone, but then caught this hoverfly in the act. That isn't an egg: the anus is on the very tip of the extensible ovipositor. My other (more decent) hoverfly shots are to the right of the bee pic.
