Being interviewed

Today we launched our recruitment campaign to attract some 500 volunteers to become panel members next year. If interested visit the website at childrenspanelscotland.org

we had fun trying to hold up three cut out figures to show "500". They tended to blow over in the wind. Then the photographers wanted us to stand in the road - the view was better but as the street was a bit of a rat run we were constantly moving in and out as delivery vans came and parked.

When we got to the TV interviews a Maserati drove up and parked and drowned out the sound. Brad Pitt can't have had these problems when filming in Glasgow!

I did my bit for BBC news, then a newish panel member - Drew - from Ayrshire was interviewed. This is the process fir hi.

Very grateful to Drew for coming up to do this media launch and explain what being a panel member means for him, and what he gains from it. Also a chance to recognise how he can undertake the role while in employment thanks to a supportive employer.

For me a futher meeting followed by radio interviews and a trip to BBC Pacific Quay to do a brief slot on John Beattie's radio programme.

The chance to sit in the garden chopping up bushes at 8pm was welcome, marred only by the midgies!

Extra of the squinty bridge as Lewis and I headed back into town.
