Sound Foundation
Prior to the fly catching competition, each competitor needs to select a location and put up her snare. It must be very soundly built to withstand the onslaught of prey. Or at least, presuming it's placed in a good spot. The soundest snare in the world won't be of any use if nothing flies into it. You may notice the zigzag thing down the middle. This reporter has been told that it is designed to warn larger flying creatures (birds, specifically) to steer clear. While I suppose an ambitious competitor might like to snag a Hummingbird and blow the rest of the competition out of the water, it more often than not would be likely that the entire carefully constructed snare would be ruined. To say nothing of the possible injury of the athlete awaiting incoming prey.
The extra is a color shot of this lovely lady.
