Sea of Red

We've had a fantastic day out at RHS Harlow Carr and I have to say I don't think I've ever seen it busier. We had to park in the extra, extra car park.

Chris treat myself and my friend to lunch in the cafe at Betty's, not coffee shop, as he has just got his first back paid state pension payment. He also had some garden vouchers to spend from his birthday last month.

The gardens were busy with picnickers and people in summer dresses and hats. A real summer day and the colours in the flower beds were outstanding. Very hard to choose one shot for a blip so I have done a Flickr album here.

I also got my first butterfly shot of the year but I choose this wonderful bed of red flowers whose name I can't recall. They were absolutely full of bees. My second choice would have been the meadow flowers which you can see in the Flickr set.

I can also report that the BFG is back in his boots!
