The beach at Aberlady Nature Reserve is usually almost deserted but the good summer weather had brought out those who were happy to walk the 2 kilometres or so from the road. In the log box someone recorded that he had found 41 different wild flowers between the bridge and the beach. As I like to count the flowers on my walks I was surprised to find 51 beside the path with a further 10 beyond Gullane Point. It was easy to take photos of the flowers but not of the dozens of butterflies flitting around especially those which rested with folded wings but the Common Blues were slightly easier.
