Bank Holiday Elite
Schull is packed with Bank holiday sailors and holiday makers. The ribs, boats and yachts are all flying around and there's lots of racing, drinking, laughing, eating, shopping, shouting, wetsuits, dogs, ice creams, sunglasses, pushchairs, bikes and cars! I'm very glad for the local businesses, it's been another very tough year for them.
These yachts are heading out into The Atlantic for a race. The island of Cape Clear is behind them.
Hubs and I are rushing around (in between the seemly endless supply of wonderful Olympic team UK successes on TV) to get the house ready for the Italian family that are coming to stay while we go to the UK for a holiday. I use the term holiday with reservation and trepidation, as it's another camping trip to England! Last year I had a hot water bottle clamped to me in the evenings round the fire, it was so cold, damp and wet for most of the time. If I aim low I'm hoping I won't be disappointed! Not my usual approach to life, but there's only so many wet and cold camping trips a girl can look forward to. The company is the attraction!
