The Third Law
I always knew about Newton's 3rd law, having learned it at school. You can wake me up in the middle of the night & asked what it is & I can tell you, but somehow I didn't know that there were two others. One would have thought that the clue is in the name. Third implies after all that there must be a first and a second. Why was I not taught about this at school? Maybe it was taught, but my concentration was at zero velocity at the time and, as we now know, it wouldn't have changed without an outside force intervening. Something like a text book being thrown at me at a motion force of somewhat higher than zero velocity.
