Caryatid

That reliable source Wikipedia records: caryatid (/kæriˈætɪd/; Greek: Καρυάτις, plural: Καρυάτιδες) is a sculpted female figure serving as an architectural support taking the place of a column or a pillar supporting an entablature on her head. This one is one of many in the Council Chamber at the Old UMIST Building in Sackville Street.
