An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman...
...walk into a bar and the barman says "Is this some kind of joke?"
Festival started proper today, it has been bubbling under the past few days but today it's official. We popped to the Spiegel Terrace after work as it's on our office doorstep but without the charm of being over in George Square surrounded by greenery and the unbridled optimism of the university it felt rather flat.
Apparently it was IPA Day and I didn't manage a single one.
I did however manage to go to Tailend for a fish supper (battered hake) with mushy peas and was extremely impressed, especially as it is pretty much our nearest chippy. If I had sat down to eat I could no doubt have resolved my lack of IPA as I saw Arran Breweries beer for sale in the restaurant but I didn't fancy it on my todd. As well as the usual cod and haddock there was the rather more traditional sole on offer which one doesn't seem to see as much nowadays (not that I like it) and the fish specials for today were hake, monkfish, trout and sea bass. L'alba D'ora eat your heart out!
After that it was pretty much Mass Effect and a bit of experimenting with the new monitor, it's nearly big enough to work as two old style 17" monitors next to each other on one screen, Reason is especially good, I can have all three windows in view at the same time.
