More sightseeing

Around Munich today. I decided to get up and go and look at some more touristy things rather than going to Salzburg today. I went up the tower of Alter Peter Kirke and ended up in the Englischer garten where I forgot it was not England and seem to be slightly pink!

This is the square that Hitler used to do speeches from between the two lions. The lion on the right represents the Catholic church and so has its mouth closed, and the lion on the left represents the royal family and so has its mouth open. Ironic that it is celebrating freedom of speech and Hitler decided to set up camp there!

There are surfers on the river in Munich, as well as a lot of naked sunbathing people! I didn't realise just how much beer they drink here, apparently it's an average for 2-3 litres per person per day! Beer for breakfast, beer at work and beer in the evenings.
