Jamie's Italian Kitchen

Out for a long, boozy lunch today to catch-up with a dear friend that I haven't seen, to my shame, in over a year. We went to Jamie's Italian Kitchen, just opened at the recently reburbished Assembly Rooms in George Street. Really smart and well worth a visit. The staff are young, enthusiastic and really know their stuff. Menu and wine recommendations were well placed and ultimately well enjoyed. Despite starters and filling main courses we were enticed with pudding as well.

I took a chance to ask the waitress if I could book a table for tomorrow night. ''Sorry'', was the response, ''we're fully booked''. ''But it's her birthday'', came my pal's plaintive reply. ''I'll see what I can do''. And, to her credit, she came back to say that that would be fine. Sorted!
